The first screening as part of the Days of Cinema of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus took place at the capital's cinema "Pobeda"
On July 7, the opening of the Days of Uzbek Cinema took place at the Pobeda cinema, which are being held on July 7 and 8 as part of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus. The opening film of the program is the psychological drama "The Son".
— It is symbolic that the Days of Cinema became the first event in the program of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus: films reflect the life of the people as if in a mirror, — emphasized Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Sarakach during the opening ceremony. — The friendship between our peoples, which has long historical traditions, is today actively developing and growing stronger thanks to the Heads of our states.
Their initiatives to develop bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres serve as a reliable foundation for our interaction.
The participants of the ceremony were addressed by Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, who noted the great role of such meetings in strengthening friendship between peoples and countries:
— Cinema always gives us powerful images and memories. Uzbeks and Belarusians understand each other well. We are united by a common history. This is also shown by our new films, which we made together. We also have many projects ahead that will strengthen our spiritual ties. Cinema is a good and, most importantly, a very kind tool for strengthening ties between our countries. Our cinematography has now entered a new stage of its development: we are re-examining many pages of our history and the biographies of our heroes from the past. We face a great task — to show our history and our achievements. I think these stories will also be interesting to the audiences of your country.
Today, July 8, audiences will be presented with the comedy film "Evening Flower", where the main character Guli has been suffering from excess weight for many years and is in search of happiness. She works as a kindergarten teacher, loves children very much, and while caring for them, tries to forget about her own worries.
On the same day, there will also be a screening of the short film "Step. Yusuf, Child of the Sun". The dramatic story tells about self-discovery, hope, and overcoming life's obstacles. The main idea is that every person sooner or later faces a choice that can change their destiny.
