Pakistani Cultural and Educational Center opens in Minsk
The Pakistani Cultural and Educational Center has been inaugurated at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts on 23 April, BelTA has learned.
In a significant stride towards fostering cultural ties and educational exchange, the Embassy of Pakistan in Belarus and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts held an opening ceremony of the Pakistani Cultural and Educational Center. The center was jointly inaugurated by Sajjad Haider Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus, and the Vice Rector of the University, with numerous faculty members, media, and students in attendance.
Located at the heart of the university campus, the center displays exquisite artworks by renowned Pakistani artists and photographs that capture the picturesque landscapes of Pakistan. Additionally, the center is adorned with vibrant Pakistani truck art, handmade wall hangers, intricately embroidered bags and wallets, brass artefacts and wooden vases that showcase the rich artisan skills of Pakistan.
During the inauguration, Ambassador Khan expressed deep gratitude towards the university for hosting the center on its campus.
The Vice Rector of the University extended his appreciation to the Embassy for its generous contributions to the establishment of the center and praised the successful collaboration.
A spectacular concert brought together approximately 150 guests to celebrate the rich musical and cultural heritage of Pakistan. The event, titled “Cross-Cultural Symphony: Belarus meets Pakistan”, featured captivating musical and dance performances by talented students of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, who played several instrumental tunes of Pakistan, besides dance on a famous “Pushto song”.
The highlight of the evening was the enchanting fusion music performance by renowned Pakistani musicians Ashraf Sharif (Sitara player) and Shahbaz Hussain (Tabla player), which received a thunderous applause from the audience.
In addition to the musical performances, an art exhibition featuring works by prominent Pakistani artists was on display for guests to enjoy. Towards the end of the event, guests had the opportunity to savor the taste of select Pakistani dishes.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Minsk and the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts look forward to continuing to work together on future cultural initiatives.
